Анотація
У статті О. М. Богдашиної висвітлюються маловідомі факти з приватного життя відомого науковця та громадського діяча М. М. Ковалевського. Зроблено висновок про велику роль матері К. Г. Ковалевської в його дитинстві та молодості. У статті аналізуються стосунки М. М. Ковалевського з Є. М. Ковальською, С. В. Ковалевською, Л. Лоренціні та іншими жінками. The article by O. Bogdashina covers little-known facts from the private life of the famous scientist and public figure M. Kovalevsky. Particular attention is given to the characteristic of the landowner life, noble rules of conduct. Concluded a large role M. Kovalevskу’smother in his childhood and youth. Katerina Ignatievna Kovalevska helped hers on to form a certain model of behavior in life, determined the motivation for his activities, had a significant impact on his mental, moral and aesthetic development. Unlike most other mother's sons, our hero had personal aspirations, which mostly coincided with his mother's interests: good upbringing, successful education, legal profession, scientific creativity, foreign travel. The father had much less influence on the upbringing of the sole heir. The article analyzes the relationships of E. Kowalska, S. Kowalewska, L. Lorentzini and other women. The author suggests that Kovalevsky partly subconsciously did not want to marry, preferring freedom in partnership with women. Loneliness contributed to the faster writing of new works by M. Kovalevsky. Despite the frequent visits of friends, Villa Batawa became the best place for him to be creative.
