Анотація
У статті розглядається вплив просвітницьких, ліберальних, позитивістських ідей на світогляд та наукову творчість видатного історика. Зокрема шляхом аналізу наукової спадщини В. П. Бузескула показано наявність усіх елементів позитивістської моделі історіописання в його працях: віра у суспільний прогрес, визнання історичного процесу закономірним, багатофакторним, розробка теорії суспільної еволюції. У цьому відношенні його варіант не відрізнявся від загальноєвропейського прототипу. Історик закликав інших дослідників дотримуватися принципу об’єктивності та активно використовувати принцип системності та метод аналогії, що набули культового значення у позитивістській дослідницькій методиці. Ліберальні переконання В. П. Бузескула найяскравіше проявилися під час революційних подій 1905–1907 та 1917–1920 рр. публічним засудженням вченим смертної кари та інших видів репресій. Його просвітницькі уподобання сконцентровані у словах вченого про надзвичайну важливість науки, освіти і культури для розвитку суспільства. The article considers the influence of enlightenment, liberal, positivist ideas on the worldview and scientific work of a prominent historian. In particular, the analysis of V. P. Buzeskul's scientific heritage shows the presence of all elements of the positivist model of historiography in his works: beliefinsocialprogress, recognition of the historical process as natural, multifactorial development of the theory of social evolution. In this respect, its version did not differ from the European prototype. The historian called on other researchers toad here to the principle of objectivity and to actively use the principle of systematicity and the method of analogy, which have gained cult significance in positivist research methods. At the same time, he emphasized the relationship between the socio-political situation and the views of historians. Kharkiv scientist also called for caution when using the method of analogy to avoid the modernization of antiquity. He considered true most of the facts set out in ancient written sources, in addition, confirmed by the latest at the end of the XIX century archaeological and epigraphic research. V. P. Buzeskul’s liberal convictionsweremostevident during ther evolutionary events of 1905-1907 and 1917–1920 by the public condemnation of the death penalty and other forms of repression by scientists. The scientist negatively assessed the coming to power of radical forces, especially the bolsheviks. His enlightenment preferences are concentrated in the words of the scientist about the extreme importance of science, education and culture for the development of society.
