Анотація
Стаття присвячена висвітленню окремих аспектів історико-краєзнавчої діяльності природничо-історичного музею Полтавського губернського земства в перші десятиріччя після свого заснування. Висвітлені та проаналізовані деякі факти оригінального збору старовинних пам’яток для зберігання у фондах музею, приватну ініціативу у зібранні музейних колекцій. Завдяки мемуарним спогадам одного з перших директорів музею В. Ф. Ніколаєва, з’ясовані цікаві подробиці кропіткої роботи по збереженню і збільшенню фондів музею, особливо під час революційних подій та громадянської війни. Висвітлено історію порятунку великої колекції родових цінностей з Кочубеївського палацу, який було повністю зруйновано під час бурхливих подій громадянської війни. The article is devoted to highlighting certain aspects of the historical and local history activities of the natural history museum of the Poltava provincial zemstvo in the first decades after its foundation. Some facts of the original collection of ancient memorials for preservation in the museum funds, a private initiative in collecting museum collections are highlighted and analyzed. Thanks to the memoirs of one of the first museum directors V.F. Nikolaev, found out interesting details of the painstaking work to preserve and increase the museum's funds, especially during the revolutionary events and the civil war. The story of the rescue of a large collection of ancestral values from the Kochubeevsky Palace, which was completely destroyed during the turbulent events of the civil war, is highlighted. The museum work on the accumulation and preservation of valuable monuments of local antiquity suggests that the activities of the Poltava Museum of Local Lore were an invaluable contribution to the development of historical local lore not only provincial but also nationwide. The facts of private initiative and patronage of the landlady O. M. Skarzhynska, who organized her museum in the city of Lubny, and later donated most of the exhibits to the Poltava Museum of Local Lore, her husband S. M. Kulzhynsky, who presented the museum with a collection of numismatics, philately and ethnography, Colonel P. P. Bobrovsky, who donated to the museum his collections on ethnography of peoples of different countries, as well as personally at his own expense arranged one of the branches of the museum. The unique case of search and rescue of the huge Kochubeyevsky archive, which was collected for several centuries and contained thousands of valuable documents, is considered.
