Анотація
У статті досліджується поширеність різних типів порядку слів у простих двоскладних реченнях, дібраних із текстів сучасної української офіційно-ділової документації. Проаналізовано 4136 двоскладних синтаксичних одиниць різних типів, особливу увагу зосереджено на змінах порядку слів у залежності від жанру офіційно-ділового тексту та залежно від засобів вираження присудка. Встановлено, що в цілому в простих двоскладних реченнях із різними засобами вираження присудка найчастіше зустрічається порядок слів SPC, SP, SPO. The article investigates the frequency of different word order types in simple two-member clauses excerpted from modern Ukrainian formal texts. We have analysed 4136 two-member syntactical units of different types focusing special attention on the word order changes depending on the genre of formal texts and on how the predicate is expressed. The analysis has shown that in simple two-member clauses with different predicate types the word order SPC, SP, SPO is predominant. Word order has interested scholars for a long time, but a lot of problems connected with it remain underinvestigated. In particular, the frequency of word order depending on register is beyond the scholars’ attention, for which reason this
problem is topical in modern linguistics. The purpose of the article is to ascertain the frequency of different word order types in modern Ukrainian official documents. The sources of the study are different types of legal documents (texts of laws, codes, decrees of executive bodies), international documents (texts of conventions, memoranda, communiqués, international agreements and covenants) and administrative documents of enterprises and organizations (templates of autobiographies, references, certificates, announcements, instructions, applications, reports, business letters, memos, orders, regulations, job descriptions, statutes of different institutions, telegrams, faxes, etc.). With the help of the method of total sampling we have excerpted 4136 two-member syntactical units of different types and we have divided them into two groups depending on how the predicate is expressed. The investigation has proved that clauses with a finite form of the verb in the predicate are the most numerous, and the order of words which corresponds to the structures SP, SPC, SPO and SPOC is predominant in them. Among the clauses which contain a non-finite form of the verb in the predicate, the order of words SPC, SPO and SPOC is the most frequent. We have also paid our special attention to the changes in word order depending on the genre of formal texts and we have made an attempt to analyse the word order in various types of simple two-member clauses which occurs in the texts. The research has shown that on the whole in official documents of all genres the clauses with the order of words corresponding to the structure SPC, SP and SPO are the most numerous. In order to make the results of the investigation more illustrative we have organised them into six tables. Taking into account the absence of works devoted to the above-mentioned problem, the future prospect of our investigation is to find out the frequency of word order in other registers of modern Ukrainian.
