Анотація
Стаття присвячена еволюції теорії імператива в лінгвістиці. У роботі висвітлено генезу дослідження цього складного мовного явища з метою узагальнення питань його кваліфікації. Проблема кваліфікації імператива зумовлена тривалим визнанням в лінгвістиці ідеї про ототожнення його з наказовим способом, що сприяло автоматичному перенесенню прямих властивостей цієї грамеми на її іншомовний відповідник. Новий підхід до аналізу імператива в комунікативному вимірі сприяв появі нового ракурсу його дослідження, а саме як категорії мовлення, за якого імператив постає скоріше як значення, а не як форма. Автор акцентує на значущості вивчення різних наукових концепцій щодо статусу імператива й важливості урахування різновекторних напрямів його потрактування. Завдяки аналізу лінгвістичних поглядів на імператив встановлено факт наукової неузгодженості щодо його потрактування й визнано потребу усталеної й чітко визначеної дефініції. З’ясовано, що з часу впровадження в лінгвістиці поняття імператив змінився ракурс висвітлення проблеми: від вивчення морфологічної сутності імператива до аналізу його природи в прагматичній площині. Дискусійним виявилося питання дефініції імперативних конструкцій – безпосередніх репрезентантів імператива. Тому нагальною необхідністю є комплексне дослідження відповідних мовних явищ. The article is devoted to the evolution of the theory of imperative in linguistics. The paper highlights the genesis of the study of this complex linguistic phenomenon in order to generalise the issues of its qualification. The problem of imperative qualification is caused by the long-standing recognition in linguistics of the idea of its identification with the imperative mood, which contributed to the automatic transfer of direct properties of this grammar to its foreign language equivalent. A new approach to the analysis of the imperative in the communicative dimension has contributed to the emergence of a new perspective of its study, namely as a category of speech, in which the imperative appears as a meaning rather than a form. The author emphasises the significance of studying various scientific concepts regarding the status of the imperative and the importance of taking into account the different directions of its interpretation. By analysing linguistic views on the imperative, the author establishes the fact of scientific inconsistency in its interpretation and recognises the need for a well-established and clearly defined definition. It is found that since the introduction of the concept of imperative in linguistics, the perspective of the problem has changed: from the study of the morphological essence of the imperative to the analysis of its nature in the pragmatic plane. The issue of defining imperative constructions - direct representatives of the imperative - has become controversial. Therefore, a comprehensive study of the relevant linguistic phenomena is urgently needed.
