    У роботі досліджено причини розгортання, етапи і особливості розвитку жіночого руху у Великій Британії ІІ половини ХІХ – в першій третині ХХ ст. Значну увагу приділено аналізу правового становища британських жінок протягом зазначеного періоду, їх боротьбі за виборчі права. Розкрита діяльність жіночих товариств різного спрямування, їх ідеологічні концепції, організаційні форми, сфери діяльності. Зазначено вплив різноманітних політичних сил на розгортання жіночого руху, позиції лідерів і суспільно-політичних груп стосовно розширення прав жінок. The article examines the causes, stages and peculiarities of the development of the women's movement in Great Britain in the second half of the nineteenth century - the first third of the twentieth century. Considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the legal status of British women during this period, their struggle for suffrage. The activities of women's societies of various directions, their ideological concepts, organisational forms, and spheres of activity are revealed. The influence of various political forces on the development of the women's movement, the positions of leaders and socio-political groups on the expansion of women's rights are noted.
