    У статті розглянуто відтворення онімів у перекладі художніх творів, що часто викликає певні труднощі. З огляду на специфіку функцій власних назв у процесі комунікації між людьми, їх переклад потребує особливого підходу, що може відрізнятися від підходів, які традиційно застосовують для відтворення засобами іноземної мови інших лексичних одиниць. У випадку художнього твору, де оніми часто є ключовими елементами його цілісної концепції, це завдання ще більш ускладнюється й вимагає від перекладача уважності, справжнього занурення в текст, творчих здібностей, а також, поза сумнівом, знань про культуру й менталітет народу, мовою якого створено оригінал твору, і водночас культуру й менталітет цільової аудиторії. The article deals with the reproduction of onims in the translation of works of art, which often causes certain difficulties. Given the specificity of the functions of proper names in the process of communication between people, their translation requires a special approach, which may differ from the approaches that are traditionally used to reproduce other lexical units by means of a foreign language. In the case of a work of art, where onyms are often key elements of its overall concept, this task is even more complicated and requires the translator to be attentive, truly immersed in the text, creative abilities, and also, without a doubt, knowledge of the culture and mentality of the people in whose language the work is written the original work, and at the same time the culture and mentality of the target audience.
