Анотація
У праці досліджено європейський вектор зовнішньої політики британського консервативного уряду Едварда Хіта (1970‒1974 рр.). Проаналізовані причини вступу Сполученого Королівства до Європейського Економічного Співтовариства, особливості ставлення Консервативної та Лейбористської партій до «європейської проблеми», формування інтеграційної політики «острівної держави» в досліджуваний період.В работе исследован европейский вектор внешней политики британского консервативного правительства Эдварда Хита (1970‒1974 гг.). Проанализированы причины вступления Соединенного Королевства в Европейское Экономическое Сообщество, особенности отношения Консервативной и Лейбористской партий к «европейской проблеме», формирование интеграционной политики «островного государства» в исследуемый период.European vector in the foreign policy of the British Conservative government under the leadership of Edward Heath (1970‒1974) has been researched in the work. Preconditions of joining the European Economic Community by the United Kingdom, peculiarities of the Conservative and Labour parties attitudes to the «European problem», formation of the «island state» integration policy in the researched period have been analyzed.
Conclusions that in 1970-1974 there was a fight both within the Great Britain and at the European level for the integration to the EEU and attempts of the decision of urgent British problems with the help of the United Europe: structural reforming of economy, expansion of a sales market of goods have been made by the author. After «oil shock» in 1973 participation of the Great Britain in the European integration began to cause more problems, than noticeable achievements. The struggle about the questions of contributions in community budget, the general agrarian and regional policy, prospects of political integration within the EEU testified that the victory of Conservatives ‒ «Eurooptimists» was uncertain: on June 5 in 1975 the question of expediency of the country membership in the EEU was submitted for the national referendum. Though 67,2% of British voted pro the interests of the country membership in the EEU, debate about the «European question» lasts also at present days. Thus, practical experience of the United Kingdom in the solution of «the European question» has to help with definition to those countries which aim the integration to the European Union today.
